OREANDA-NEWS. In the course of his trip to Helsinki on February, 14 Head of Karelia Alexander Khudilainen has conducted negotiations with two large Finnish companies of Poyry and Stora Enso.

The talks in the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in Finland

Poyry is a global consulting and engineering company, offering consulting on complex management, universal solutions for complex projects and services on effective planning and technical supervision. The company operates in 50 countries of the world, its headquarters is located in Finland, and in territory of Russia it operates since 1994. Today in our country Poyry is represented in all the core spheres of activity: construction, forestry, pulp and paper industry, power engineering, transport systems and ecology.

During the meeting Alexander Khudilainen and Vice-President of Poyry Petteri Pihlajamaki discussed the opportunity of using the experience and knowledge of experts of the company at implementation of large investment projects in Karelia, in particular, in such spheres as development of mineral deposits.

According to the Head of the republic, expert opinions of the recognized international company on prospectivity of development of this or that deposit in which Karelia is so rich could be of decisive impact on investors at decision-making on participation in such projects.

– Poyry is interested to continue this dialogue, – Petteri Pihlajamaki has told at the meeting. – The Republic of Karelia has a great potential, and its opportunities for cooperation are vast.

The schedule of business meetings of Head of Karelia on February, 14 concluded with the talks with the management of Stora Enso in which vice-presidents of the concern M.Kallio and H.Kasurinen have taken part.

The concern of Stora Enso is one of the world's largest international companies operating in the field of forestry, logging, production and realization of paper, cardboard and saw-timber. In Russia the company has 6 factories, including Karelian enterprise of Setles which is run in the settlement of Impilahti of Pitkaaranta region since 2003.

In Helsinki Head of Karelia, representatives of the Government of the republic and the management of the concern continued the dialogue started last October during the visit of Alexander Khudilainen to Impilahti. At the present meeting matters concerned of plans of work of Stora Enso in Karelia in 2013-2014.

Today, On February, 15, Head of Karelia contemplates talks with the business community of Finland. Meetings with the management of such companies as Lemminkainen, Futurist, Metso, Outukumpu are planned.
