OREANDA-NEWS. Kirovsky Zavod announced the acquisition of 100% of shares of the German machine manufacturer Monforts Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH & Co.

Monforts is located in Monchengladbach, North Rhine-Westphalia, and is one of the leading European manufacturers of industrial machines. Monforts machine tools are utilized in the automotive industry, turbine engineering, manufacturing of wind turbines, pumps, valves and actuators, ceramics processing as well as in other industries.

The Russian and the German parties had a long history of successful cooperation prior to signing the acquisition agreement. Kirovsky Zavod equipped its production lines of St. Petersburg Tractor Plant, Kirov-Stankomash and its other subsidiaries with Monforts machines as well as acted as its official distributor in the CIS countries.

In the future Kirovsky Zavod plans to expand and enhance its machine-building segment. The acquisition of Monforts shall assist the Russian enterprise with the development of new technologies and know-how, in particular in such areas as innovative production and manufacturing of high-precision and efficient machines. Further, the leadership of Kirovsky Zavod hopes that this deal will aid the enterprise in its ongoing integration in the global economy.

JSC Kirovsky Zavod is one of the major Russian machinery holdings. The main activities include metallurgy, agricultural and construction machinery, power engineering, machine tool manufacturing and mechanical processing as well as asset management.

Among the customers of the factory are companies engaged in agricultural, fuel and energy industries, road, industrial and civil construction, oil and gas industry, nuclear energy, defense sector, forestry and utilities, rail transport, shipbuilding and elevator production.

Kirovsky Zavod exports its products to more than 20 countries and currently employs more than 6,000 people.

In 2012 the revenue of the Kirovsky Zavod Group reached 18 billion rubles (€445 million).

Monforts Werkzeugmaschinen, LLC was established in Germany in 1884. The company specializes in the batch production of lathe machines and lathe machining units with NPC and cylindrical hydrostatic guides ensuring high-precision machine tools.

Monforts machines are applied in the aircraft construction (MTU, Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney), automotive and other industries.

The company has its representative offices in more than 30 countries. Its Russian customers include machine-building plant Elektrostal, GAZ Group (Nizhny Novgorod), YaMZ (Yaroslavl), Aviaagregat and Volgaburmash (Samara), SKIF (Belgorod), NKMZ (Neftekamsk), Energiya (Moscow), ROU (Barnaul), KSM (Saint-Petersburg), KIM (Naberezhniye Chelny), Gydrosila (Kirovgrad), NKMZ (Kramatorsk), NPO Compressormash.

In 2012 the revenue of the company amounted to about €28 million.
