OREANDA-NEWS. In 2012, 14,440 mln rubles were invested in development of SUEK-Kuzbass operations. This is an all-time record in the Company's history.

The main goals of the corporate investment policy are linked with improving labor safety, retrofitting mechanized machinery, raising the productivity of conveyor lines, expansion and reconstruction of coal preparation facilities

The primary goal of the investment policy is ensuring labor safety. In 2012, as many as 1.3 bn rubles were invested to this end. The funds were invested in purchase and deployment of multi-function, state-of-the-art, automatic air gas monitoring systems, in upgrading the systems of ventilation, degassing and decreasing the levels of air suspended dust in mines. All coal mining operations are equipped with systems of personnel mine site monitoring and alarm generating systems able to warn personnel of emergencies.

The main portion of the funds — 9.3 bn rubles — was invested in equipment revamping. Over 1.1 bn rubles were invested in equipping Taldinskaya-Zapadnaya 2 Colliery's transport chain with В-1600 belt conveyors. For Zarechny open-pit mine 10 heavy dump trucks BelAZ 75131 were purchased for the total amount of 450 mln rubles. More than half a billion rubles were invested in purchasing 34 extra JOY branded support sections and a belt conveyor for S. M. Kirov colliery. For Taldinskaya-Zapadnaya 1 colliery a high-performance coal cutting and transporting machine PF6/1142 Bursaries (Germany) was purchased for 233 mln rubles.

The amount of 3.8 bn rubles was invested in capital construction, with 1 bn rubles from this amount disbursed on completing the construction of the 2nd section of the facility for treating the run-of-mine coal at S. M. Kirov colliery with the designed treatment capacity of up to 5 mln tonnes a year. A boundary industrial site was built at Taldinskaya-Zapadnaya 1 colliery for 233 mln rubles. Its technological novelty is the radial HE-K2L1600 belt featuring the length of 70 m and the capacity of 3,500 metric tons/hour, which gets the coal and forms coal storage on the surface.
