OREANDA-NEWS.  February 25, 2013. According to the latest figures from China's General Administration of Customs, China, the world's second largest oil consumer after the US imported 25.15 million metric tonne of crude oil in January this year, 7.4% more than that in the same month of last year.

The crude oil imports last month were 6.3% more than the 23.64 million metric tonne in December.

The country saw its imports of oil products jump 32.7% YoY to 3.91 million metric tonne and its exports of oil products grow 30.4% YoY to 2.43 million metric tonne.

In 2012, the country imported 271.09 million metric tonne of crude oil, 7.3% more than in 2011. The country saw its dependence on imported oil rise to 56.4%.
