OREANDA-NEWS. The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. (BTMU) is pleased to announce that they have entered into a memorandum of understanding with Trade and Investment South Africa (TISA).

TISA is a governmental organisation which forms a part of the Department of Trade and Industry in South Africa, and they aim to increase the trade capacity of the Republic of South Africa and to promote direct investment flows into South Africa.

South Africa is a major economic power in Africa and through the alliance, BTMU is aiming to provide Japanese companies with extensive local information held by TISA, and to assist them to enter into South Africa and tie up with local companies. BTMU is specifically aiming to achieve this by organizing joint-seminars for Japanese companies in collaboration with TISA.

Since the opening of its Johannesburg Representative Office in 1996, BTMU has been supporting Japanese companies operating in South Africa by providing the local information. Further to the alliance with TISA, BTMU is committed to strengthen its offering of financial services in the Africa region.

In June 2013, the 5th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) will be held in Yokohama city in Japan. The forum will address the topics on how to promote the future investment into Africa and to facilitate trade with and in African countries.
