OREANDA-NEWS. February 27, 2013. Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Regional Development of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev made a working trip to Atyrau region.

First of all, he visited a number of facilities in Atyrau city, including the construction of the sewage-treatment plant for the left-bank part of the city and fishery production cooperative "Amangeldy".

Later, at the Atyrau oil refinery the First Deputy Prime Minister inspected the projects on construction of the aromatics production complex and the deep conversion plant. The aromatics production complex is planned to be launched next year. The construction is carried out at the expense of equity and debt capital of JSC "Development Bank of Kazakhstan" / Export-Import Bank of China. During the period of construction the project employs 2140 people, and after its commissioning 319 jobs will be created. The project involves the production of raw materials for the petrochemical industry. It is planned to increase the production of high octane gasoline by 124 tons per year, or 592 tons per year without the production of petrochemical products (providing flexibility of production). Oil refining capacity will be increased to 5 million tons per year.

Then, Bakytzhan Sagintayev visited the North Caspian Oil Spill Response Base. The main purpose of the base is to protect the mouth of the Ural River and the reed beds along the coast of the northern part of the Caspian Sea during the development of offshore fields.

In the afternoon, Sagintayev visited LLP "Zhaiyk Balyk" and Republican State Enterprise "Atyrau sturgeon hatchery." In addition, the First Deputy Prime Minister got acquainted with the work that was performed as part of the modernization of housing and utilities infrastructure in the city.

The First Deputy Premier summarized the results of his working visit at a meeting in the region's akimat, where he outlined the main priorities of development and discussed a range of problematic issues that require immediate solution from the region's authorities and akimat. Bakytzhan Sagintayev emphasized that the task of the government is to create maximum conditions to stimulate entrepreneurial activity.

In this regard, the First Vice Premier charged the Atyrau region akimat to take comprehensive measures to intensify work on the involvement of entrepreneurs in the program "Business Road Map-2020". He also urged the local authorities together with the Ministry of Oil and Gas, Ministry of Regional Development, Fund "Damu" to consider the implementation of the partnership program around TengizChevroil and other large companies, followed by the launch of a number of small and medium business projects this year.
