OREANDA-NEWS. March 05, 2013. Mr. Bakytzhan Sagintayev, First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Regional Development of Kazakhstan, visited Seoul to participate in the Inauguration Ceremony for HE Madam Park Guen-hye, President of the Republic of Korea, as Special Envoy of the President of Kazakhstan.

During his visit he met President Park and discussed issues relating to future of bilateral cooperation. Kazakhstan and South Korea once again confirmed willingness to further strengthen their strategic partnership.

First Deputy Prime Minister also had productive meetings with Mr. Kim Moon-soo, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, who emphasized Kazakhstan’s high achievements under the leadership of President Nursultan Nazarbayev and expressed confidence that the country will succeed and achieve all the goals of Strategy 2050. Gyeonggi province is the biggest industrial region of Korea, where leading Korean companies such as Samsung Electronics have their base.

Head of Delegation met some prominent Korean political leaders, including former National Assembly Speaker Mr. Lee Man Sup, former Minister of Knowledge Economy Mr. Lee Youn Ho and Mr. Young-Gil Song, Mayor of Incheon Metropolitan City, where “City of the Future” is located.

The two sides are actively developing their bilateral cooperation on a wide range of issues and enhancing cultural ties. Last year trade turnover between two countries surpassed 1 billion USD.
