OREANDA-NEWS. Club Enerji, Tata Power's nationwide energy conservation movement now spearheaded by school children has gained tremendous impetus due to the focus and dedication of these children to spread awareness about energy and environment conservation across the country.

Over 150 students from Ryan International School, Malad West, today participated in a special rally to spread the message about environment conservation. The students enthusiastically prepared posters, banners and placards with paintings depicting various ways to conserve the environment.

The students sensitised people at Evershine Nagar, Malad, through slogans and by spreading the message on environment conservation through their own posters, placards and handouts. They also wore paper caps and distributed paper bags to people en-route to avoid use of plastics.

Speaking about this initiative, Anil Sardana, managing director, Tata Power, said, “We are happy to see that the enthusiasm, involvement and dedication of these school students in spreading the message of energy conservation through self-sustained efforts has contributed towards making this a national movement. We would also like to thank the teachers and principals of the school in extending their support to this initiative.”

Tata Power Club Enerji encourages students to form their own mini Club Enerjis in their schools and societies to reach out to more citizens. The club also has various nationwide engagement programmes such as Energy-Q (Quiz competition), Spark of Life (Poster making contest), Every Watt Counts (Essay Competition), newsletter, and an exciting website. With informative and interesting publications such as the book - Watts up with Energy?, activity booklets, audio-visuals and TPCE anthem, the Club aims at sensitising more than one million citizens and saving over three million units of electricity.
