OREANDA-NEWS. Pokachevneftegaz of LUKOIL-West Siberia and LUKOIL-Kubanenergo are the first enterprises of LUKOIL Group to have been certified for compliance with the requirements of the ISO 50001:2011 international standard (Energy management systems – Requirements with guidance for use).

The certification procedure was implemented by the recognized company Bureau Veritas Certification.

The ISO 50001 standard is the basis for establishing an efficient energy management system in LUKOIL Group organizations in order to cut energy and fuel consumption, enhance energy efficiency and minimize the negative impact on the environment.

The decision to implement pilot projects to introduce the energy management system to LUKOIL Group organizations was taken by LUKOIL Management Committee on March 26, 2012. The introduction of the above system is expected to help cut the energy resource costs considerably and standardize managerial decisions in the energy-saving area.

Currently, the company is implementing the 2011-2013 Energy-Saving Program. The expected savings in fuel and energy resources for the three-year period will total RUR 10.7 billion, with the amount of investments being RUR 6.2 billion.
