“Main transport corridors with Europe will be “completed” within nearest five years. We will have modern European roads, in absolutely all the directions,” he urged.

The Prime Minister assured that expenses for reconstruction and building of roads will grow annually.

Mykola Azarov noted that overwhelming majority of Ukrainian roads had been built in Soviet times and they had not been designed for such loads they undergo nowadays.

“The topic of bad roads is being broadly speculated. I am a driver with over 40-year experience. I have driven all around Ukraine. Who can tell that Ukraine has ever had quality roads? Our roads used to be bad. But, together with that, in the recent 3 years the roads of absolutely new quality started to be built in Ukraine, the roads which have stood this extremely complicated winter,” the head of the Government emphasized.
