OREANDA-NEWS.  MIR.1200 Consortium, which is taking part in the public tender for completion of Temelin NPP, has yesterday signed suppliers ґcontracts with three leading Czech firms – ZAT, HOCHTIEF CZ and UJV Rez. As part of these agreements, the signatories committed themselves to cooperation with the consortium in case it wins the tender for Temelin NPP 3,4 completion. These contractually binding partnerships are a further proof that Czech industry will be crucially involved in completion of Temelin NPP.

The contracts about future contracts follow on the memoranda of cooperation, which were signed in the recent past. As opposed to the memoranda, these contractual acts already define in detail the conditions for cooperation with MIR.1200 Consortium in case it wins in the tender.

„These contracts concretely specify the obligations of both parties. They clearly define the specific responsibility and elaborate the scope of works. At the same time, on the basis of submitted offers we can check at any time which subcontractors do these firms sign further contracts with. This way we will ensure that 75% of the contract will truly stay in the Czech Republic,“ explained Josef Perlik, director of the NPP Engineering division at Skoda JS, which is the leader of MIR.1200 Consortium.

The companies ZAT and HOCHTIEF CZ offer exclusive cooperation to MIR.1200 Consortium. The company ZAT will supply automated systems of management of technological processes for common operation and other equipment of the power plant if the Czech-Russian consortium wins the tender. „Cooperation with MIR.1200 Consortium is a clear choice for us. As the only bidder for completion it guarantees future involvement of Czech industry not just in the form of marginal supplies but important technological units,“ said Vladislava Cesakova, executive director of ZAT.

General director of the company HOCHTIEF CZ Tomas Bilek added about the exclusive cooperation: „We have long-term experience with nuclear energy. Our company has had a significant part in construction of first and second units at Temelin, and via its mother company in other nuclear power plants across entire Europe. We want to capitalise on these experiences now during Temelin completion. MIR.1200 Consortium offers us the best opportunity to make us of our experience.“ HOCHTIEF CZ will be responsible for construction part of the nuclear island.

UJV Rez will take part in compiling the project documentation of nuclear and turbine islands and also in creation of working documentation for construction of the power plant, whose chief designer is Russian company SPbAEP.

„Todayґs signing of the contracts is another proof that maximum involvement of Czech industry is  the main strategy of MIR.1200 Consortium. Our project will ensure level of localisation at 75 percent, which will undoubtedly have very positive effect on the development of Czech industry and the entire Czech economy,“ stressed Leos Tomicek, executive vice-president of Rusatom Overseas.
