OREANDA-NEWS. As of 1 March 2013, 176 Ukrainian banks (public joint-stock companies) had the licences granted by the National Bank of Ukraine for performing banking activity, 1 bank whereof was licensed to act as a remedial bank.

The banks' equity capital amounted to UAH 173.8 billion, or 15.3% of the banks' liabilities.

The paid in authorized capital of banks amounted to UAH 175.4 billion.

As of 1 March 2013, the banks' liabilities amounted to UAH 962.9 billion.

The main components of liabilities were as follows:

amounts due to individuals – UAH 379.1 billion, or 39.4%;

amounts due to economic entities – UAH 205.9 billion, or 21.4%;

interbank loans and deposits – UAH 109.0 billion, or 11.3%.

The breakdown of household deposits by maturity was as follows:

time deposits – UAH 302.7 billion, or 79.8%;

demand deposits – UAH 76.4 billion, or 20.2%

As of 1 March 2013, the Ukrainian banks' assets totalled UAH 1, 136.7 billion. Total assets equalled UAH 1, 277.1 billion.

The breakdown of total assets was as follows:

cash, banking metals and funds with the NBU – 5.0%;

correspondent accounts with other banks – 6.8%;

loans granted – 63.8%;

investment in securities – 9.0%;

accounts receivable – 5.4%;

fixed assets and intangible assets – 4.2%;

accrued income – 4.2%;

other assets – 1.6%.
