The tree planting activity was led by Mr. Abdullatif Ibrahim Al-Mohanadi, Manager of Industrial Cities Operations, along with Mr. Jumaa Al-Muraikhi, Director of Al-Khor/Al-Thakhira Municipal Council, and Mr. Yousef Al-Khulaifi, Director of Agricultural Affairs at the Ministry of Environment.

Also present during the event were many senior Industrial Cities officials, representatives from the Ministry of Environment, members of Al Khor/Al Thakhira Municipal Council as well as pupils of Al-Shamal Independent Elementary School and Al-Thakhira Independent Model School.

“Qatar Petroleum’s Industrial Cities is proud of its continuing partnership with the Ministry of Environment and the Municipality of Al Khor/Al Thakhira in this praiseworthy event, which is of particular importance to us as environmental protection is always a top priority in our operations,” said Mr. Al-Mohanadi.

“We believe that taking care of our surroundings and maintaining synergy with our community are the conditions for sustainable development. Nature has bestowed riches on our beloved country, and our duty in return is to strive to make the best and most appropriate use of this wealth and not to squander it and the environment to which we belong,” he added.

During the event, before setting out to plant a tree, each participant was invited to sign his name on a banner bearing a pledge to “strive to save the trees and keep our planet clean and beautiful.” The activity ended with the taking of group pictures and the distribution of gifts and souvenirs to the attendees.
