OREANDA-NEWS. March 19, 2013. The International Day of Action for Rivers, Sakhalin Energy presented its new book “The Rivers of Sakhalin Island” to the public at the Sakhalin Regional Museum.

The book, which was printed on glossy paper, contains unique photographs along with detailed information on the island rivers’ geographical features, hydrology and hydrobiology.

The book is easy to read, has a lot of unique pictures and therefore appeals to a wide range or reader audiences.

A number of chapters tell the story of Sakhalin-2 onshore pipeline construction, with a special focus on river and stream crossings, river ecosystem preservation methods utilised by Sakhalin Energy during the construction phase, as well as construction quality assurance.

This is the fourth photo book in a series of environmental publications sponsored by Sakhalin Energy. The first three,”The Birds of Sakhalin Island”, “Steller’s Seas Eagle”, and “Gray Whales.The Sakhalin Story” also familiarised their readers with unique representatives of the island’s fauna, as well as the Company’s efforts to protect those species.
