OREANDA-NEWS. March 22, 2013. The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Leningrad Region (Leningrad OFAS Russia) found that “Lenenergo” OJSC committed an antimonopoly violation.

The Commission of Leningrad OFAS Russia established that the electric grid company violated Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”. In 2009-2011“Lenenergo” OJSC concluded several contracts on technical connection with physical persons but the monopolist did not commence the works for connecting to electricity networks until the beginning of 2013.

Upon the outcome of the case, Leningrad OFAS Russia fined “Lenenergo” OJSC over 2.2 million Rubles.

“Imposing the administrative fine, we took into consideration a mitigating circumstance that “Lenenergo” OJSC had executed a determination issued by Leningrad OFAS Russia. It means that the works for technological connection are in progress, which cannot but please us”, commented Deputy Head of Leningrad OFAS Russia, Gleb Konnov.
