OREANDA-NEWS. March 25, 2013. Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) Andrey Kashevarov took part in the 57th session of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which was held in Moscow.

In particular, the Economic Council considered a Review of advertising activities in the CIS member-states drafted by the Steering Group on Advertising at the Interstate Council on Antimonopoly Policy, chaired by Andrey Kashevarov.

The Review analyses advertising law in various CIS countries, gives examples of exposed violations in advertising as well as describes the trends in developing the advertising industry in the CIS member-states, outlines recommendations for approximation of advertising law and enforcement practice in order to efficiently suppress violations on the advertising market. The Review also proposes to study possibility to approve common standards of the requirements for advertising of certain types of goods with the minimum requirements to advertising of such goods for all CIS member-states.

The CIS Economic Council approved the Review.

The Review of Advertising Activities in the CIS member-states drafted by CIS Steering Group was approved by the 37th session of the Interstate Council on Antimonopoly Policy on 8-9th November 2012. On 25th January 2013 the Review was presented at a session of Economic Commission of the CIS Economic Council. The Review was approved by the Commission and submitted to the CIS Economic Council for consideration.
