OREANDA-NEWS. By the decree of the governor of Yaroslavl region dated 06.03.2013 №110-p the constitution of the coordination board in charge of the development of the “Gas-turbine machinery and power-plant engineering” cluster has been established.

Sergey Yastrebov, Governor of Yaroslavl region will head the coordination board in charge of the development of the “Gas-turbine machinery and power-plant engineering” cluster serving at the same time as its chairman. The organizational activity of the board will be handled by the Yaroslavl regional department of industrial policy.

The composition of the new advisory board headed by the Governor of the region has incorporated some representatives of the federal authorities, federal and branchwise non-profit associations, regional municipal authorities as well as representatives of educational and research institutions and commercial organizations. Including among others Ilya Federov, NPO Saturn CEO, Marc Sorel, head of Safran Group in Russia, Anastasiya Alekhnovich, advisor on economic matters of the all-Russian non-profit organization and Igor Kozhukhvsky, general manager of the “Agency for forecasting energy balances”.

The activity of the coordination board is focused on designing regional policy for development of the “Gas-turbine machinery and power-plant engineering” cluster, coordination of the federal and regional authorities functioning and other potential stakeholders with the aim of creating and sustaining new high-tech production setups of gas-turbine machineries and power-generating equipment, ensuring the competitive edge of the engineered product and introducing breakthrough technology in the real economy sector of the region.

As a reminder, the “Gas-turbine machinery and power-plant engineering” territorial innovation cluster is made up of companies creating a unique research and production chain of developing gas-turbine engines and power-generating installations. Among which are NPO Saturn JSC (cluster coordinator), RGATU (cluster’s base higher-learning institution), Saturn- Gas Turbines JSC, SatIZ JSC, VolgAero JSC, ReMO JSC, NIR JSC as well as some small Rybinsk-based innovative companies and Russia’s leading educational and scientific institutions.
