OREANDA-NEWS. Zakhar Smushkin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ilim Group, and Igor Orlov, Governor of the Arkhangelsk Oblast, visited the new paper machine area at Ilim's Mill in Koryazhma. The purpose of the visit was to see the operation of the most up-to-date paper machine in Russia built under the Big Koryazhma investment project. We are proud to remind you that the new machine produced its first paper on March 3, 2013.

As part of their visit Mr. Smushkin and Mr. Orlov inspected industrial facilities, including the new paper machine and finishing building and praised what has been achieved so far. Currently Mill employees and contractors are improving paper quality and speed parameters of the new paper machine.

Furthermore, a new coater is being built at the industrial site of Ilim Group's Koryazhma Mill under the Big Koryazhma project. Once it is completed, coated paper production will be started. It is going to be the first industrial site in Russia to manufacture 90 thousand tons of high quality coated paper.

After the visit, Zakhar Smushkin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ilim Group, commented: "The new paper machine area is just the first major step in the development of our Koryazhma Mill. We are striving to consistently increase the output of high value-added products at the Mill to meet domestic demand and substitute imports".
