OREANDA-NEWS. March 27, 2013. Such a decision was taken last Friday at the annual meeting of ABM shareholders to hear reports and elect new officials. Leonid Talmaci, 58 years old, was the first President of the National Bank of Moldova since 1991 till 2009.

The Association of Banks of Moldova was founded in 1993. This is non-profit body aimed at consolidating activities of its members, facilitating creation of favourable conditions for achievement of their common goals and protection of their common interests and supporting joint acts in reforming and developing the national economy.

ABM embraces 14 commercial banks of Moldova. During various periods of time ABM was led by Valeriu Muravschi, ex-Premier of Moldova; Valeriu Citan, ex -Finance Minister; Gheorghe Calcii, ex-President of the National Commission on Securities; Petru Veverita; Dumitru Ursu, ex-Vice-President of NBM and ex-President of the National Commission on Securities.
