OREANDA-NEWS. Izhorskiye Zavody, part of OMZ Group, has assembled and put into operation four new welding skids: line and girth welding skid, electro slag welding skid and two multi-purposed modular bridge-type skids.

Line and girth welding skid produced by CJSC Research and Production Company ITS (Russia) is aimed for line welding during the manufacturing of petrochemical vessel shells from rolled sheets, bottom blanks etc. Electro slag welding skid produced by Steel Mec Sald (Italy) is aimed for automatic welding of all shell types used for manufacturing NPP products and petrochemical vessels.

Multi-purposed modular bridge-type skids produced by Steel Mec Sald (Italy) are aimed for girth welding of two or three shells of petrochemical reactors and welding of nuclear power units products and allow to accomplish automatic flux welding from outer surface with two wire lines using “Tandem” method.

New welding skids are defined by a high-leveled automatization and meet all security requirements.

Total cost of equipment – over 100 mln rubles.
