OREANDA-NEWS. March 29, 2013. Air Astana, Kazakhstan’s Skytrax award winning flag carriertook delivery of a new Embraer 190, which soon will serve domestic and regional flights. The aircraft was named after People’s Artiste of Kazakhstan, laureate of the state prize and Tarlan prize – Amina Umurzakova.

Newly arrived Embraer 190 is the seventh aircraft of this type in fleet of the national carrier. The aircraft was delivered directly from Embraer’s manufacturing facility in the Brazilian city of San-Jose-dos-Campos.

Air Astana’s first E190 was delivered in March 2011. These are narrow bodied aircrafts aimed to serve commercial flights on a medium range distances. Air Astanas’ E-190s are configured with 97 seats in a two class layout. Cruise speed is 890 km/h. Flight range – 4200 km. Air Astana selected the Embraer 190 for its advanced design, passenger comfort and operating efficiency, with low maintenance costs and fuel burn.

“Air Astana continues renovation of its fleet with delivery of a new, modern Embraer 190 as a part of regional network expansion strategy within Central Asia and the CIS as well as continuous development Kazakhstan as a transit hub of Eurasia. We also continue our tradition to name aircrafts after famous Kazakh famous women who contributed to the development of cultural and art of Kazakhstan. This time we decided to pay tributes to Amina Umurzakova, a distinguished and talented artist, who is still associated with the image of the loving mother, which she has brought to live on screen,” comments Ibrahim Canliel, senior vice president of Sales and Marketing department.

The new airliner will server various of destinations from Astana to Pavlodar, Kostanay, Shymkent, Oskemen, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Baku, Tbilisi, Bishkek, Orenburg, Omak and Tashkent. Air Astana awaits delivery of the eighth E190 by the end of 2013. Moreover, the flag carrier of Kazakhstan will take delivery of six aircrafts including Airbus A320 and Boeing 767 directly from manufacturers.
