OREANDA-NEWS. Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems hosted the Council of Chief designers.

Participants of the meeting discussed fulfillment of contractual obligations under the Reshetnev Company’s projects which are being realized with the framework of Defence Procurement, the Federal Space Program for the years 2006-2015 and the Federal Target Program “Maintenance, development and utilization of the GLONASS system”. Representatives of ISS-Reshetnev’s government customers such as the Ministry of Defence and the Russian Space Agency, as well as more than 20 cooperating companies took part in the event.

During the two-day meeting, project managers made reports on the progress of work under the Gonets-M, Loutch-5V and military spacecraft programs. A large number of issues that were covered at the meetings related to the Reshetnev Company’s work in the development of the global navigation satellite system GLONASS. The participants discussed the current status of the orbital navigation fleet as well as the results of flight tests of the system’s spacecraft. New satellites’ production schedules and the ground segment development were also given due consideration.

The meetings’ agenda also included discussion of commercial projects which ISS-Reshetnev is implementing in the interest of Russian satellite operators. For this reason, representatives of RSCC and Gazprom Space Systems – companies that the Siberian enterprise is currently building 6 telecommunications satellites for, also took part in the Council meetings.
