OREANDA-NEWS. TVEL, JSC, conducted the second and third dialogues with stakeholders for the purpose of preparation of the annual public report for 2012.

The social aspects of activity of the Fuel Company, issues of increasing its internal efficiency, prevention of corrupt practices and international business development were reviewed at the public hearings.

Leyla Javadova, the Project Manager for development of social programs and improvement of corporate culture, reported on the execution of agreements with regional governments and local authorities, support of social projects and participation in the development of the business environment in the operating cities of TC TVEL. In particular, she said that in Zelenogorsk a large-scale project was implemented as to construction of the residential building for teachers of the CATU (Closed Administrative-Territorial Unit). Furthermore, other large projects, including creation of physics and mathematics schools and promotion of small business, are being successfully implemented together with regional municipalities.

Victor Shalayev, the Security Manager, in his speech presented the main results of anti-corruption and anti-theft activities in 2012. For example, the amount of averted and compensated damages resulting from the actions of the units for TC TVEL plants asset protection is over 360 mln. RUB, which is 47% more than in 2011. Based on the results of audits and uncovered abuses more than 50 records were presented to law-enforcement authorities. Thus, 27 criminal cases were instituted. Victor Shalayev also noted that calls made to the “Hot line for anti-corruption and anti-theft in nuclear industry” mainly related to procurement abuses (30%) and thefts (30%). Furthermore, in 2012, for various violations without evidenced illegal activities, which, however, caused damage to the Fuel Company, more than 100 employees were incurred disciplinary responsibility. “Corruption prevention measures affect all business processes”, Victor Shalayev said. “The comprehensive anti-corruption and anti-theft program initiated by State Corporation Rosatom is being implemented at all plants of the Fuel Company”.

Alexander Kurnikov, the Executive Director of the Directorate for Production System Development of Rosatom reported that according to the results for 2012 the economic benefits from implementation of RPC (Rosatom Production System) projects in FC TVEL are 1.792 bln. RUB (1.104 bln. RUB in 2011). He said that more than 800 small groups were created at the plants, their managers undergo training and comprehensive production optimization is being carried out. According to Alexander Kurnikov, the transformation of the RPS to the operational efficiency management by means of production control is one of the main goals for 2013.

The income from sales of nuclear products, works and services of FC TVEL was USD 3.2 bln. in 2012. While the export income was USD 1.429 bln. These figures were presented at the public hearings by Vasiliy Konstantinov, the Senior Vice-President. “The company continuously increases its income, probably not as fast as it could, however, there is a continuous growth”, he said. According to him, the order book of TVEL, JSC, is USD 26 bln. under operating contracts.

The participants of the public hearings made some proposals to complement the public position of the Fuel Company and named the topics and figures to be disclosed in the annual report for 2012. Konstantin Sokolov, the Vice-President of TVEL, JSC, Head of the Public Reporting Committee, assured that all these recommendations will be taken into account.
