OREANDA-NEWS. Installation of large-scale metal constructions was carried out by specialists of the leading company of the Holding TITAN-2 – OJSC MSU-90. The total weight of transition pieces came to almost one hundred tonnes.

Now the installers are commencing welding works in order to equip the condenser group, which was completed in early 2012. The total weight of installed equipment was over two thousand tonnes.

Transition pieces serve to remove steam from the turbine to condensers in the turbine hall, which are an important part of the turbine hall equipment and are designed to cool turbine devices of power unit 1 at the LNPP-2. The main task of the condensing unit is to set and maintain negative pressure in the exhaust pipe of the turbine, and thus within the capacitor.

Holding TITAN-2 is the largest group of companies in the North-West Region, working in the construction of the most significant facilities for the nuclear power plants and industry. Its organisations provide a full cycle of construction operations – from design of project documentation to delivery and commissioning. Exceptional work is ensured by over 4,000 highly qualified staff specialists across 15 business units of the Holding.

TITAN-2 is one of the contractors involved in construction and installation works at the power units 1 and 2 of the Leningrad NPP. More than 2,500 staff members are involved at the construction sites, restoring and improving the facilities of the LNPP. 145 construction sites are simultaneously underway. The holding's own specialists are involved at 42 sites of the 1st and 2nd power units of LNPP-2. The works involve operations with the reactor hall, turbine, power supply, water supply and other facilities of the power units.
