OREANDA-NEWS. Moscow Domodedovo Airport started preparation for the next implementation phase of e-Freight system. Execution with electronic document flow elements of transfer cargo flights (cargo movement from one aircraft into another) – is the airport’s next step to paperless process. It became possible due to electronic signature received earlier by temporary storage warehouse Domodedovo Cargo.

e-Freight system – is an international standard of electronic process and support of cargo flights. A pilot project of e-Freight implementation started in Russia in 2012 on public-private partnership principles. In Domodedovo system algorithms were checked for the first time in August, 2012 on transit flight of AirBrigeCargo, and by the end of February, 2013 the airport had already successfully served 22 transit flights with electronic documents submission by air carrier to customs.

Domodedovo actively supports implementation of electronic document flow: the airport specialists took part in the meeting of Interagency working group on e-Freight implementation in Russia, which took place on February, 28 and gathered representatives of aviation society and government institutions. On the meeting interim results of Russian pilot project and schedule of further implementation were discussed.

e-Freight system enables all parties of the process – airports, air carriers, government authorities – to reduce costs of cargo execution and registration by replacing paper documents with electronic data. Today this system is efficiently used by more than 30 international airlines and the largest world aviation hubs of Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Paris and other airports.

Director of Moscow Domodedovo Airport Igor Borisov notices: “Realization of e-Freight technology will enable Domodedovo to establish competitive advantages for attraction of global transit cargo-flows”.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport — is the largest one of Russia, in 2012 the airport served 28,2 million people. It joins the category of the largest airports in Europe on the classification of the Airports Council International (ACI) and on results of 2012 became one of three European airports with the highest dynamic development. Domodedovo is chosen for flights by member airlines of two largest global airline alliances — Star Alliance and oneworld.
