OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus’ chemical company OJSC Grodno Azot manufactured Br1.649 trillion worth of chemical products (USD 191.078 million) in January-February 2013, up 24.9% on the year, the company said in an official report posted on the company’s web site.

In February 2013 commodity output grew 22% on the year to Br781.183 billion (USD 90.52 million).

OJSC Grodno Azot increased fertilizer production 2.1% on the year in January-February 2013 to 132,200 tonnes (in terms of 100% nitrogen). In February alone nitrogen fertilizer output decreased 0.7% to 62,861 tonnes.

Carbamide output expanded 3.3% to 167,734 tonnes (February – down 0.7% to 72,200 tonnes).

Grodno Azot increased output of ammonium sulphate by 2.5% in January-February 2012 up to 69,260 tonnes.

Grodno Azot was set up in 1963 and transformed into an open joint-stock company in 2002. The Belarusian government holds a 99.97% stake.

Grodno Azot is Belarus’ main producer of liquid ammonia, nitrogen fertilizers, methanol, caprolactam, biodiesel fuel.
