OREANDA-NEWS. On March 28, 2013, ANTONOV Company received Appendix to the Type Certificate issued by the Aviation Register of the Interstate Aviation Committee for AN-148-100EM, a new model of the AN-148 , developed for the Ministry for Emergency Situations of Russia. Certification tests of the aircraft were conducted within the period from January 25 to February 18, 2013 at Voronezh Aircraft Building JSC (VASO).

The AN-148-100EM layout includes: cabin for the Main passenger, business class cabin and medical compartment. In is possible to install between 2 and 6 specialized medical modules (designed by Zarechie CJS) in the medical compartment. These modules provide the victims with a full medical assistance during a flight. For more efficient use of the aircraft possibilities, medical modules and economy class seats can be transported in the underfloor baggage section.

On a base of operator the AN-148-100EM can be re-equipped in any of five versions: passenger, command one and three passenger-medical versions.

The fulfilled certification program included test of different versions of the aircraft layout providing transportation of passengers and victims. The processes of loading/unloading the victims into/out of the aircraft including use of a special ladder as well as the aircraft escapes were tested. The developed systems and newly installed equipment were tested in three flights. At that, possibility to carry 6 victims, to monitor state of their health with special medicine equipment, to provide medical aid was checked. The tests were conducted with participation of experts of Certification centers and “Centrospas”.

For information: TheAN-148-100EMis a new aircraft of the AN-148 regional jets family intended to carry between 68 and 89 passengers over the distance up to 4400 km. At present, 16 AN-148s are operated by airlines of three countries. Since beginning of operation in 2009, these airplanes carried more than 1 mln 600 thousand persons, performed more than 28,500 flights with total duration of more than 50,000 hours, mastered airports of more than 40 countries of the world.
