OREANDA-NEWS. KDDI and OKINAWA CELLURAR announced that more than 5 million customers have subscribed to au Smart Pass since the service was launched on March 1, 2012.

In addition, to commemorate the one year anniversary of au Smart Pass, KDDI is launching the "Amazing au Smart Pass Campaign" on March 8, 2013. This campaign offers au Smart Pass members the opportunity to answer quiz questions and enter a drawing to win luxurious prizes, including a backstage pass to an overseas Kyary Pamyu Pamyu concert or a trip to a tropical resort in the Maldives.

The au Smart Pass service provides unlimited download access to over 500 popular apps, while offering discount coupons, a point service, 50 GB of storage for photos and videos, and enhanced security and support, all for 390 yen per month (tax included). The service has achieved great popularity among a diverse range of male and female users from all age groups.

On September 21, 2012, KDDI expanded au Smart Pass to include support for web-based services, and the number of compatible web-based services has steadily increased.

Moving forward, KDDI will continue to expand the number of apps and services available with au Smart Pass, while providing an environment that enables all customers, from first-time smartphone users to advanced smartphone users, to enjoy their favorite apps and services comfortably and freely.
