OREANDA-NEWS. April 12, 2013. The stainless steel welded pipes and seamless pipes independently developed and produced by TISCO for the procurement package accreditation of synthetic solar project FEEDER system was delivered recently. The successful development and production of the products shows TISCO’s ability to produce high quality and precise pipes and tubes.

The synthetic solar is popular name of the ITER project. It was initiated by Russia, Japan, United States and EU. In 1985, the key international science and technology cooperation project ITER was established under the initiative of United States and former Soviet Union and the approval by IAEA, the purpose of the project is to build a self-sustained burning (i.e. ignition) fusion reactor to verify the feasibility of the fusion reactor project. In Feb. 2003, during the 8th Inter-government negotiation on ITER held in St Petersburg, Russia, China declared to take part in the negotiation as a fully independent member, which meant China committed to bear 10% of the ITER project cost of 11 billion Euro and enjoy the whole intellectual properties.

A staff from the Comprehensive Department of Stainless Steel Pipe Co. Ltd. said the production of the pipes and tubes for ITER was very difficult from the point of technology, there were dozens of chemical and mechanical indicators to be met, and especially the products must be qualified under the cryogenic testing at -269°C.

The BCC coil case produced by TISCO for ITER-CC procurement package was delivered together with the stainless steel pipes and tubes.
