OREANDA-NEWS. PJSC "Ukrsotsbank", which operates under the UniCredit Bank trade mark, made public the results of its non-financial activity in 2012 – Communication on Progress in the frames of UN Global Compact.

The UN Global Compact is a strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. By doing so, business, as a primary driver of globalization, can help ensure that markets, commerce, technology and finance advance in ways that benefit economies and societies everywhere. Today there are more than 10,000 companies and organizations that participate in the Global Compact initiative from more than 130 countries worldwide.

Borys Tymonkin, CEO of PJSC "Ukrsotsbank", UniCredit Bank™, commenting on the Bank's participation in the UN initiative, said: "For 22 years of have been working on the domestic market PJSC “Ukrsotsbank”, UniCredit Bank™, has gained a reputation of a socially responsible financial institution which annually supports a large number of cultural, sport and other philanthropy projects in Ukraine. As a socially responsible organization, PJSC "Ukrsotsbank", UniCredit Bank™, is an active member of the UN Global Compact initiative and fully shares and is committed to 10 principles of the Document. Currently, it is the third Communication on Progress (COP) in implementing the principles of the UN Global Compact, which we present to the public".

In the current COP the banking institution discloses social projects, educational initiatives and charity campaigns implemented during the reporting period, tells about its future plans on corporate social responsibility (CSR), distributes international standards of social and environmental responsibility of the parent group, talks about the actions that Bank has implemented in the field of anti-corruption and more.

PJSC "Ukrsotsbank", UniCredit Bank™, joined the Global Compact initiative in November 2006 and already in 2007 the Bank entered the Ukraine's first edition of social responsible companies which adopted socially responsible business practices established under the UN Global Compact initiative. Today the Bank has already published three non-financial activity reports.
