OREANDA-NEWS. April 16, 2013. In early April, Rietumu Bank launched its website in Chinese. Thus, Chinese has become the sixth language in which information about the bank’s financial services and current news can be obtained.

In recent years, Asia and China have become important regions where Rietumu Bank, which traditionally services international trade operations and high profile customers, has focused its attention.

A significant stage for the bank in the Asian development was participation in the exhibition Transport Logistic China 2012 in Shanghai, which amassed 500 companies and more than 15 000 visitors from 73 countries. This event coincided with the opening of the Rietumu Group office in Shanghai.

Rietumu is one of the founders of Latvia-China business Council, chaired by former Minister of Economics of Latvia Artis Kampars. Members of the Council are large companies cooperating with China in various fields of business.

As a Member of the Rietumu Bank Council, Alexander Gafin notes, ‘Latvia is a significant part of the logistic systems which connect the Far East and Central Asia with the European Union, and we, as a bank, feel an increasing interest in our country and its capabilities on the part of Chinese businesses. By creating a new website, we have the opportunity of addressing entrepreneurs and our partners from China in their mother tongue – as in many other cases Rietumu Bank has become a pioneer. Of course certain expenses are required, but they are justified.’

Following the launch of the new website, Rietumu Bank clients will be able to obtain full information about the bank’s products and services, as well as to find out about new offers and opportunities – in Chinese.

The Rietumu Bank website is also available in Russian, Latvian, English, German and French.
