OREANDA-NEWS.  As of 16.04.2013, 06:00 a.m., the situation at DTEK Komsomolets Donbassa Mine is stable. No fire source was detected. Standard operating conditions are maintained at all sites, except for the emergency one.

 The specialists take samples to control the amount and composition of mine atmosphere. Also drilling of wells into the goaf of the 1st western longwall L4, block 5, is continued. ‘Cobra’ unit supplies water and foam solution to the goaf through the wells drilled earlier. ULEP unit was delivered to the emergency site to inject pressurized foam for localization of possible fire source.

 Currently 3 sections of the State Military Mine Rescue Department operate within the mine and the meeting with the specialists of MakNII and NII GD Respirator is planned for development of the further measures to localize the emergency.

 As reported previously, on 14.04.2013 the exceeded maximum allowable concentration of carbon monoxide was detected at DTEK Komsomolets Donbassa Mine during the 2nd shift in the goaf of the 1st western longwall L4, block 5. There were no injuries.

 Causes and circumstances of the incident will be determined by the expert commission.
