OREANDA-NEWS. Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu Quality Laboratory Limited announced the launch of a new service in Japan for electrical and electronics manufacturers that provide regulatory information on chemical substances contained in products. Based on a collaboration between the two companies, the new service delivers information Fujitsu has collected in its global business operations, including the latest chemical substances regulatory trends, particularly related to the EU's RoHS Directive and REACH regulation, as well as ways to comply with newly added chemical substance regulations.

Regulatory information on chemical substances tends to be updated erratically. With this service, customers have access to a single source of information, making it easier to stay up to date and comply with regulations in an efficient and prompt manner.

As countries around the world tighten regulations on chemical substances, manufacturers of electrical goods, electronics, and other products are seeking ways to properly manage information on chemical substances so that the products they offer and the information they disclose are in compliance with regulations. At the same time, the need to constantly monitor changes in regulations on chemical substances while interpreting complex and ambiguous regulations and incorporating them into their management practices is a significant burden for companies.

In building on the know-how that Fujitsu has acquired through its global business operations, including the latest information on chemical substances regulations and methods for compliance, Fujitsu Quality Laboratory will now offer a service that provides regulatory information on chemical substances contained in products.

The new service brings together a CMS (chemical management system) diagnostic/development support service and analysis service currently available from Fujitsu Quality Laboratory, along with the Fujitsu PLEMIA M3/ECODUCE product environment data management solution and REACH regulation-compliant PLEMIA M3/FGeeMS green procurement support solution. This enables the Fujitsu Group to provide one-stop support throughout the entire product chemical substances management cycle, from customer product development up until shipment.
