OREANDA-NEWS. Working trip of the delegation of Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to Tajikistan ended in Dushanbe. The visit took place from April 5 to 6, 2013 within the framework of II International Conference on Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Dushanbe, styled New Approaches to Interregional Cooperation of Russia and Tajikistan. Russian delegation was headed by Boris Pastukhov, Adviser to General Director of JSC WTC (MICEX:WTCM) and Deputy Chairman of RF CCI Committee on Economic Integration Issues of SCO and CIS Member-Nations.

Addresses of the Russian President Vladimir Putin and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon were read and delivered at plenary session opening.

Representatives of Administration of Russian Federation President, Executive Staff of President of the Republic of Tajikistan, federal executive authorities of Russia and government authorities of Tajikistan, Russian Federation subjects and territorial units of the Republic of Tajikistan, business community, higher educational establishments, and mass media participated in conference activities.

Attendees discussed critical areas of interregional cooperation within the Conference framework: Prospective infrastructural and investment projects, efficient use of labor migrants, opportunities of setting up financial mechanisms stimulating development of cooperation, and expansion of cultural and humanitarian ties between regions of Russia and Tajikistan.

Boris Pastukhov, Deputy Chairman of RF CCI Committee on Economic Integration Issues of SCO and CIS Member-Nations, noted in his speech, "Many changes have taken place in Tajikistan during prior decades: sound legislative and legal base was created, which secures investments into Tajik economics. We managed to hold successful negotiations and outline the program for further partnership owing to intermediation of Chambers of Commerce & Industry of Tajikistan and Russia."

RF CCI delegation held a number of meetings with Sharif Said, Chairman of CCI of Tajikistan, and Gaibullo Avzalov, Chairman of Khatlon Region, during the working trip. Negotiations culminated in signature of several agreements on cooperation, identification of their development areas, and establishment of new trade and economic contacts. The delegation also visited Dangara Free Economic Zone in Khatlon Region and Nurek Hydro.

Mr. Pastukhov stressed, "We have all grounds to state today that efficient inter-chamber cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia provides positive results. Cooperation agreements with CCI of Tajikistan are operating at proper level. Business delegations established by trade principle make it possible to aim at specific business interests of entrepreneurs together with regional authorities."
