OREANDA-NEWS. In Geneva at the Passenger Terminal EXPO 2013 the Skytrax World Airport Awards ceremony was held. Moscow Domodedovo Airport was honourably named for the 4th time the Best Airport in Eastern Europe. This year 12 million air travelers in 388 airports were involved into the research.

The Skytrax World Airport Awards are considered to be the most objective awards across the world’s aviation industry. The Skytrax rating is based on a face-to-face poll of passengers, carried out at the airport, it guarantees research objectiveness. Airports are estimated in 39 categories, respondents are polled over all services, – from their arrival into airport to passenger boarding.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport has been holding for several years a rank of the best airport in Eastern Europe. Air travelers give a high rating, noticing transit usability between domestic and international flights, good vehicle access, comfortable passenger terminal, convenient navigation, quick baggage dispensing, friendly and language qualified staff.

Receiving the Skytrax Award on the ceremony Moscow Domodedovo Airport Director External and International relations Daniel Burkard noticed: "Skytrax is a prestigious award. We’ve been holding for 4 years the rank of Best Airport in Eastern Europe. It definitely tells of the popularity of Domodedovo. Year by year the airport breaks records, being the first in Russia in terms of passenger traffic and the third in Europe in terms of development dynamic. The fact that more and more air travelers choose Domodedovo Airport – speaks volumes for its convenience for passenger".

Moscow Domodedovo Airport — is the largest one of Russia, in 2012 the airport served 28,2 million people. It joins the category of the largest airports in Europe on the classification of the Airports Council International (ACI) and on results of 2012 became one of three European airports with the highest dynamic development. Domodedovo is chosen for flights by member airlines of two largest global airline alliances — Star Alliance and oneworld.
