OREANDA-NEWS. CEO of DTEK Neftegaz Igor Schurov moves to the position of CEO in Negtegazdobycha, decided the general shareholder meeting of Neftegazdobycha on 17 April.

Mr Schurov will develop and implement a new investment programme for the company, ensure stable growth of production and introduce modern standards of transparent corporate governance observed in DTEK.

"Developing oil and gas business is fundamental to ensure energy security and continuous development of Ukraine. Professional management in the industry is a key to success. Igor Schurov is one of the strongest professionals in implementation of big oil and gas projects. We believe that his move to Neftegazdobycha will make this biggest private gas company more efficient. A skilled expert team able to deliver on the launched projects will remain in DTEK Neftegaz," said DTEK's CEO Maxim Timchenko.

"During my tenure at DTEK Neftegaz I have built a professional team of experts who had been involved in big international prospecting projects in Ukraine and the CIS. I also shaped DTEK's development strategy in the oil and gas segment and launched a number of important researches and analyses. I am positive that the team at DTEK Neftegaz can complete the projects the company has in portfolio today. The shareholders of Neftegazdobycha set a new challenge to me - to build and implement an investment strategy. This is quite a goal but I am happy to be able to use all of my knowledge and experience to address it," said Igor Schurov.

DTEK has agreed to buy the stake in Neftegazdobycha from its current holders, while SCM decided to assign 25% of its shares in Neftegazdobycha to DTEK. The deal between DTEK and shareholders of Neftegazdobycha will be closed after the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine agrees the transaction making DTEK the owner of the controlling stock.

Igor Schurov was appointed CEO of DTEK Neftegaz in September 2011. Earlier he was a CEO of oil and gas producer NOVATEK-TARKOCALENEFTEGAS. In 1998 Schurov graduated from Samara State Technical University with a degree in exploration, development and production of oil and gas deposits. In 2000 he obtained a degree in finance and credit from the Samara State Economic Academy. He holds a PhD in Technology. In 2005 he was awarded the title of Professor by the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
