OREANDA-NEWS. Tata Main Hospital added a feather to its cap by introducing the facility of Cosmetic Dermatology Clinic. The clinic was inaugurated today by Mr P N Singh, President, Tata Workers’ Union along with AVM (Retd.) Dr T P Madhusudanan, General Manager, Medical Services, Tata Steel.

Cosmetic Dermatology is a scientific sub-specialty of Dermatology which aims to bring science to the concept of Beauty. To fall in line with the trend and changing preference, Tata Main Hospital has introduced the facility to cater to the new dimensions of Beauty.

Electro-surgery, Radio-surgery, Acne-surgery, Chemical Peeling, Microdermabrasion are the modalities of treatment that will be available in the Cosmetic-Dermatology Clinic, TMH. The concepts offer advantages like simple rapid office procedure, cost effective method, no bleeding or scarring, often completed in single sitting, and excellent cosmetic results.

Modalities Details:

ELECTRO-SURGERY: A Procedure by which the diseased tissue is either destroyed or removed by the electrical energy. The energy is in the form of high frequency alternating current. Within the treated tissue, this energy is converted to heat as a result of resistance to its passage.

RADIO-SURGERY: Radio Surgery is an atraumatic method of cutting and coagulation of soft tissues. It requires no pressure and the cells are vaporized along the trajectory of radio waves, resulting in less cicatrisation, less discomfort and pain.

ACNE-SURGERY: Acne Vulgaris is a common problem of the teenagers and it produces cosmetic disfigurement like post Acne pigmentation and scarring, which persists lifelong and produce profound social disability to the patient. The aim of acne treatment is to prevent this cosmetic disability produced by the disease.

CHEMICAL PEELING: Chemical peeling is a very common cosmetological procedure. Chemical peeling is an application of one or more chemical agents to the Skin, so as to cause controlled chemical burns, resulting in destruction of a portion of the epidermis and / or dermis through dry desquamation followed by its exfoliation and subsequent resurfacing of epidermis along with remodeling of collagen and elastic fibers during the repair process in the dermis.
