OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus’ ferrous rolled stock output decreased 5.9% on the year in January-December 2012 to 2.596 million tonnes, an official with Belarus’ National Statistics Committee told.

Steel output increased 0.1% on the year to 702.5 thousand tonnes. Steel wire output grew 7% on the year to 112,300 tonnes.

Belarusian companies produced 22,800 tonnes of metal cord in the period, down 13.8% on the year.

In monetary terms, ferrous metal output in Belarus increased 4.4% on the year to 10 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) in Jan-Mar 2013 (USD 1.156 billion).

Inventories of steel products totalled Br1.828 trillion (USD 211.329 million) as of April 1, 2013, 78.9% of the average monthly output. (Br8,650 - USD 1)
