OREANDA-NEWS. SGCC launched post-disaster reconstruction plan for Lushan County after it was hit by the quake on April 20th in Ya’an, Sichuan on April 25th. It planned to accelerate the grid reconstruction to restore power supply in the quake-stricken area as soon as possible.

SGCC hoped to guarantee the power need for reconstruction and development of affected areas since the power rescue and relief was in its second phase of system recovery. The plan should be safeguarded in an orderly manner with strengthened leadership. Long-term interest should be focused in a scientifically compiled reconstruction plan. Reasonable proposals should be assessed and chosen to ensure the quality and standard in reconstruction. There is also a need to intensify the communication and connection with the local government in order to execute the plan.

It is learned that SGCC was one of the many companies who first launched post-disaster reconstruction plan. Its short-term goal was to satisfy customers’s power need, deliver power from generation factories, and ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid.

In the short term, for those places where grid was too damaged to restore power in a short time or where danger was hidden, SGCC will reconstruct in the original place or choose another venue after scientific assessment to recover affected grid to the capability before the quake. However, in a long run, SGCC will plan new auxiliary grid products and improve the power supply capability in the affected area in the light of post-disaster urban construction, industrial layout and the local grid development plan to satisfy the local socio-economic development.
