OREANDA-NEWS. An exhibition of product samples of non-nuclear sector manufactured by the TVEL Fuel Company’s enterprises, which can be used in the country’s defense industry, was presented at the OJSOJSC “Novosibirsky zavod khimkontsentratov” / JSC “Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant” during a working visit to the factory by Oleg Ostapenko, the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation. The visit was a part of the Deputy Minister’s program of visits to enterprises and research institutions in Akademgorodok, Novosibirsk and Siberia region.

The visit to NZKK OJSC / NCCP OJSC began with learning about the activities of one of the major units – the unit producing fuel for nuclear power plants (NPPs). The Deputy Minister was provided with the demonstration of the main stages of the technological production of fuel assemblies for nuclear power stations: from the process of pelletizing ceramic nuclear fuel to final assembly of cassettes. The samples of non-nuclear sector production were also exhibited there; these samples are produced or can be produced not only at the OJSOJSC “Novosibirsky zavod khimkontsentratov” / JSC “Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant” but also at other enterprises managed by TVEL Fuel Company.

As the only domestic producer of lithium and its compounds, NZKK OJSC / NCCP OJSC demonstrated its developments in this area distinguished by wide range of applications including the defense industry. It should also be noted that the samples and stands provided the information on prospective products of such enterprises as TMZ OJSC (Glazov), SKK OJSC (Seversk), UEKK OJSC (Novouralsk), VPO Tochmash OJSC (Vladimir), and VNIIM OJSC (Moscow). The Fuel Company’s representatives elaborated on the technological and production capabilities of the units. Some stands were dedicated to presentation of TVEL OJSC as an innovative and high-technology company.

After visiting the exhibition Oleg Ostapenko noted: "The exhibition has made a good impression on me. The most important thing is that this work will result in our making a cooperation program – between the Ministry of Defense and Rosatom; and ultimately we will get good results. There is a firm foundation for it.

On April 25 the Ministry of Defense delegation visited SKK OJSC and its subsidiaries where the enterprises’ expertise and opportunities for cooperation were presented.

The visit of the Deputy Minister of Defense is of great importance for the Fuel Company’s enterprises since it not just contributes to their image but also opens a real opportunity to get new work orders and new projects in the defense sector, thus providing new job creation within the company’s enterprises.
