OREANDA-NEWS. The Federal Agency for the Development of the State Border Facilities Press Office declared results of international federal significance Moscow air hub airports crossing points monitoring.

On 19 April Central territorial administration of The Federal Agency for the Development of the State Border Facilities monitored state control authorities activity on crossing points of Moscow (Domodedovo). The report says: "Necessary targets to provide state control authorities activity on crossing points operation are attained, including measures in frames of uninterrupted operation during May holidays. Prerequisites for emergency situations in crossing points are not found".

This estimation has already been confirmed – previous weekend started two-week May holidays. Due to the large number of Russians departing on holidays, a passenger terminal was operating in high load conditions. For appropriate service of increased number of air travelers all frontier service staff was involved. As a result waiting period for passengers in passport control in the most loaded periods was in frames of regulatory requirements.

The airport reminds travelers that, according to the forecast, increased passenger traffic will remain during the first days of May and also in the end of holidays, when vacationers are returning from trips. Taking into account a start of dacha season and possible increased load on Moscow highways, passengers are recommended to plan their trip to airport in advance or to use Aeroexpress trains.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport — is the largest one of Russia, in 2012 the airport served 28,2 million people. It joins the category of the largest airports in Europe on the classification of the Airports Council International (ACI) and on results of 2012 became one of three European airports with the highest dynamic development. Since 2009 it is ranked as the best airport in Eastern Europe by Skytrax. Domodedovo is chosen for flights by member airlines of two largest global airline alliances — Star Alliance and oneworld.
