OREANDA-NEWS. Kaspersky Lab has been named a double winner at the SC Magazine Awards Europe 2013 for the second year running, collecting the awards:‘Information Security Vendor of the Year’and ‘Information Security Team of the Year’.

This success recognises Kaspersky Lab as an innovator in IT security, making the digital world safer for more than 300 million users worldwide. Through its provision of an unprecedented level of protection for more than 15 years, Kaspersky Lab fought off stiff competition to claim the title of ‘Information Security Vendor of the Year’ and ‘Information Security Team of the Year’. The latter was awarded to Kaspersky Lab’s analysis team for the discovery of the Flame malware, demonstrating tangible improvements to security processes, lowering risk, and enhancing security, business efficiency and brand reputation.

“The threat posed by malware to businesses and consumers is not abating – quite the contrary. The threat is becoming more real than ever. We continue to develop our detection and analysis ability to ensure we can deliver immediate protection against the very latest threats,” explains Eugene Kaspersky, Founder and CEO, Kaspersky Lab. “To be recognised for these efforts with these major industry awards is a significant achievement for us.”

In May 2012, Kaspersky Lab’s analysis team discovered Flame, a highly sophisticated malicious program, which was actively being used as a cyber-weapon targeting entities in several countries. The analysis of the malicious program revealed it was the largest and most complex attack toolkit to date, being used to infect computers to steal data and sensitive information.

The SC Awards are widely recognized across Europe and honor professionals working to secure enterprises, and the vendor communities that deliver innovative security technologies.
