OREANDA-NEWS. Tata Capital announced the final closing of its private equity fund, Tata Opportunities Fund LP, with subscriptions from marquee global investors.

With this, the Tata Opportunities Fund has access to USD 600 million of commitments, making it one of the largest debut private equity funds targeted at India. The complement of limited partners include a handful (below 10) of large, sophisticated, global institutional investors from North America, Asia and the Middle-East spanning sovereign investors, financial institutions, global corporate and high net-worth families. Most of the fund’s limited partners have made their largest commitment to an Indian private equity fund through this partnership.

The fund is sector and stage agnostic and provides long-term investors the ability to participate in Indian private equity investment opportunities through a mix of growth and buy-out strategies, from both within the Tata group and also outside of it. The Fund is scalable materially beyond USD 600 million of deployable assets since limited partners could also undertake co-investments directly into portfolio companies alongside the fund on a mutually discretionary basis.
