OREANDA-NEWS. Transaero Airlines performed its first regular cargo flight at NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport. Tu-204-100C aircraft from Moscow landed in Novosibirsk at 04:32 a.m. local time and after refueling, ground handling services and extra cargo and mail loading departed for Yakutsk. Flights will be operated once per week.

Launching of new cargo flights at NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is an expected result of the incentive program for air carriers and modernization of the airport infrastructure. The new regular cargo flight on Moscow – Novosibirsk – Yakutsk route will enable local transport companies and cargo shippers to optimize logistics and expedite delivery time to addressees.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest transit air hub in the Asian part of Russia. The airport has two runways, provides handling services of regular cargo flights of both Russian and foreign airlines such as AirBridgeCargo, Aeroflot, Volga-Dnepr, Cargolux, Air Cargo Germany, Air China Cargo, Yangtze River Express and others. Capacity of the freight complex Tolmachevo Cargo makes up 50,000 tons per year.In 2013 it expects to handle over 35,000 tons of cargo and mail (+25%).
