OREANDA-NEWS. NEC Corporation announced that CJSC NEC Neva Communications Systems has established a wholly-owned subsidiary, NEC Ukraine, in order to expand its regional information and communications technology (ICT) business. The new company is scheduled to begin operations in May 2013.

NEC expects increasing demand for network infrastructure from Ukrainian mobile telecom operators that are planning to commercialize 3G and LTE services. The establishment of NEC Ukraine enables NEC to capitalize on this opportunity and further expand business through strengthening the relationships with telecom operators in Ukraine.

"Over the past 30 years, NEC has gained exceptional experience in Russia and other CIS markets," said Raymond Armes, Managing Director, NEC Neva. "NEC opened representative offices in Kiev in October 2011 to develop business in the area. In consideration of the rapidly growing demand for telecommunication systems, establishing the new company is the logical step to accelerating operations in the country. NEC aims to continue responding to local needs and expanding regional business by provisioning market leading ICT infrastructure for telecom operators and enterprise customers."

Alexander Bogomolov, head of the Ukraine representative office, has been appointed as General Director of NEC Ukraine. Mr. Bogomolov has over 30 years of experience in leadership positions at telecommunication companies in Ukraine and has made significant contributions to international telecommunication projects, including submarine cable systems.
