OREANDA-NEWS. There are journalists of WAG TV with a two-day visit at KAMAZ to shoot a film for Discovery Channel (USA, Great Britain).

John Denis O’Mahony, Producer/Director, and Neve Cunningham, Director of Photography, will visit the main factories of the company to gather information which will help viewers learn how KAMAZ trucks are made. Today, the program-makers plan to visit the foundry plant, to see plasma cutting and the Dьrr painting line at Kama Press and Stamping Plant.

Tomorrow, the reporters will make a tour of the engine plant, a cylinder block localization shop at CUMMINS KAMA (JV of KAMAZ and the US Company Cummins) and the main engine assembly line. After that, they will go to the automobile plant and film the mother assembly conveyor and a cab assembly line in operation. Finally, the guests will see state-of-the-art vehicles at the R&D Center of KAMAZ and the shop floor of KAMAZ-Avtosport, the center of the legendary KAMAZ-master team.

KAMAZ has always attracted foreign journalists’ keen interest and evoked their warm responses. The pioneers of KAMAZ remember that the launch of KAMAZ’s conveyor was photographed and filmed in multiple documentaries, covered in newspapers, broadcast and shown on TV not only in this country, but also abroad. Later, KAMAZ arrested foreign journalists’ attention thanks to brilliant Dakar victories of the KAMAZ-master team. The drivers, now the world’s best-known legends of the motor racing, were much in the news. So, it is natural that Discovery is interested in KAMAZ.

Discovery Channel is today’s most interesting and popular TV channel in the world with its annual audience of more than 1.5 billion viewers in 169 countries. Due to its shows, Discovery has rapidly won Russian people’s hearts and become the most popular foreign broadcaster in this country. One of the highest-rating shows of Discovery is How do they do it? produced by WAG TV. A story about KAMAZ will be told just in this series.
