OREANDA-NEWS. May 24, 2013. The Ukrautodor will be forced to refuse from large-scale construction of new highways in the current year so that till winter to complete overhaul and regular repair of roads. This was emphasized by Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov during the session of the Cabinet of Ministers which also concerned considering of a problem of enormous ruining of Ukrainian motor roads. 

“To my great regret, we should admit that the reality does not leave us a choice: in the current year the Ukrautodor will be forced to refuse from large-scale construction of new highways, which are also in great demand for us. Instead, by winter it is vital to complete overhaul and regular repair of roads,” Mykola Azarov urged.

According to him, only in this case “we will have an opportunity in the following year to start implementation of an ambitious program of motor road construction, so that transport corridors of European quality would join all administrative centers of the country with time”.

The head of Government ascertained that the Government had approved a list of objects for the current year and their financing had been launched.

In particular, there will be reconstructed and repaired the following motor road sections: Kyiv – Kharkiv – Dovzhanskyi, Kyiv – Chop, Kherson – Dzhankoy – Simpheropol, Vinnytsya – Uman – Znamyanka, Znamyanka – Dnipropetrovsk, Dnipropetrovsk – Donetsk - Luhansk, Zhytomyr – Chernivtsi, Dnipropetrovsk – Mykolayiv and others. There have been commenced preparatory activities in repair of Kyiv – Odessa highway. Tender procedures have been held, accord of the World Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), European Investment Bank (EIB) concerning drawing of funds received.
