OREANDA-NEWS. May 24, 2013. BOC Lisbon Branch went into trial operation as its first branch in Portugal. Huang Songfu, Chinese ambassador to Portugal, He Ding, economic and commercial counselor as well as representatives of local Chinese enterprises were present at the trial operation ceremony.

In the address, Huang said BOC’s establishing a branch in Portugal shows its determination to expand its European operations and will make a new contribution to China-Portugal bilateral economic and trade development. Hopefully, BOC will continue giving play to its advantages of internationalization, diversification and intelligenization to provide quality financial services to Chinese enterprises, overseas Chinese and local enterprises in Portugal.

Located in Lisbon's central business district, BOC Lisbon Branch will offer products and services such as current deposit, time deposit, mortgage loan, collateral loan, loans (bilateral loan, syndicated loan), trade financing (letter of credit, letter of guarantee, factoring and import & export services),etc.

To date, BOC has established overseas institutions in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and 37 countries, launched financial services in countries like Oman, Peru, Ghana, Turkey, Uganda and Finland via Chinese business counters, and established agency relations with over 1,600 foreign banks in nearly 180 countries and regions.
