OREANDA-NEWS. May 30, 2013. This is indicated by numbers of the balance of payments of Transnistria for 2012 published by the Central Bank of Transnistria. Moldavian GRES power plant supplies Moldova with about 50% of power.

According to official statistics, GRES increased power export by 25.7% to USD 31.8 million to Romania in 2012. Moreover, it renewed the power supply to Ukraine in the last year due to power deficit in Ukraine because of consumption fall of temperature; the export made USD0.6 million.

Moldavian GRES power plant is the biggest one in Eastern Europe and belongs to INTER RAO, Russia. The total capacity of GRES 12 power units makes 2500 megawatt. The peak demand of all Moldavian power supply system makes 1.1-1.2 thousand megawatt.
