OREANDA-NEWS. Dr. Michael Mittmann, Chairman of the E.ON Group Works Council, today resigned for health reasons. He had become Chairman in October 2012. For the time being his first deputy, Andreas Schneider from E.ON Kraftwerke, will act as Chairman of the E.ON Group Works Council.

"Over the past months Mr. Mittmann bore wide-ranging responsibility for all activities of the E.ON Group Works Council. The Board of the E.ON Group Works Council wishes to thank him for the services he rendered, especially in view of the extraordinary challenges faced due to the ongoing transformation within the E.ON Group," said Andreas Schneider. Mr. Schneider, a car mechanic by training, has been working for E.ON since 1979. He has been involved in the work of codetermination bodies for 29 years and since 2005 he has been chairman of the E.ON Kraftwerke Works Council in the Helmstedt area.

E.ON CHRO Regine Stachelhaus said: "Mr. Mittmann succeeded in getting important subjects moving within a short space of time, despite the challenges currently facing E.ON. We still have many difficult tasks ahead that we must tackle together with the codetermination bodies. As part of a functioning partnership between the two sides of industry, we have to develop forward-looking solutions for the employees. I greatly respect Mr. Mittmann's personal decision and can understand it very well. On behalf of the E.ON Board of Management I would like to thank him for the cooperation marked by mutual trust and wish him all the best for the future."
